With an emphasis on play, experimentation, and embracing the unexpected, we will dive into Signal Return’s extraordinary collection of wood and metal type to create one-of-a-kind typographic prints and collages.
We’ll expand on the basics of handset type and traditional methods of printing by exploring repetition, masking, layering, color-mixing, and collage to explore the unique visual potential of typographic forms.
At the end of this two-day workshop, you’ll walk away with some new lock-up and printing techniques, a renewed appreciation for type, and a handful of unique, single edition prints.
Cost of workshop includes materials, instruction by S-R staff and takeaway prints. Paper in this workshop is from French Paper Company, a small Michigan Paper Mill around for more than 140 years.
