Learn how to make stunning letterpress posters with vintage wood type in a gradient of colors! 

In this 2-day class, we will compose a hand-set text of your choosing and learn to set it up on our Vandercook flatbed presses. As well as, split fountain techniques, also known as a rainbow roll, to add a splash of color to each print. Participants will take home a set of twenty 11"x 17" posters.

Cost of workshop includes materials, instruction by S-R staff and takeaway prints. Paper in this workshop is from French Paper Company, a small Michigan Paper Mill around for more than 140 years.

Elizabeth Isakson-Dado is an artist, educator, and curator. She holds a BFA in Printmaking from Wayne State University, and an MFA in Book & Paper Arts from Columbia College Chicago. Liz has exhibited widely in the US and has work in institutional collections including the Poetry Foundation, the Center for Book and Paper Art, and Art in Print Magazine. For the past 10 years, she has taught university classes and community workshops in letterpress printing. Liz also sells her own prints through her Instagram, @theaquariushouse, to raise money for social justice campaigns. She lives and works in Berkley, Michigan.
