POSTCARD EXCHANGE! Letterpress Workshop
Instructed by Elizabeth Isakson-Dado (The Aquarius House)
Saturday, May 3, 10am-4pm
Class Size: Maximum 8
In this fun and fast-paced workshop, participants will use Signal-Return’s collection of lead type, images, and ornaments to design and print a set of 10 postcards!
These postcards are perfect to send to friends or save for the memories! We print extras so that each class ends with a postcard trade among the group of printers.
Students will learn letterpress basics like composing with movable type, locking up designs in a chase, and mixing ink by hand. Each participant will learn how to properly compose, lock-up, and print their own design on one of our tabletop platen presses.
Cost of workshop includes materials, instruction by S-R staff and takeaway prints. Paper in this workshop is from French Paper Company, a small Michigan Paper Mill around for more than 140 years.
