Make your next St. Patrick’s Day or Game Day cocktail hour extra special with your own custom letterpress drink coasters!
Learn how to design with our antique movable lead type and image collection. Students will take home a set of 20 handmade drink coasters. Students will learn letterpress basics like composing with movable type, locking up designs in a chase, and mixing ink by hand. Each participant will learn how to properly compose, lock-up, and print their own design on one of our tabletop platen presses.
Come prepared with an idea for your custom coaster design or message. Think short and sweet, keep text within 6 words or less or about 40 letters.
Cost of workshop includes materials, instruction by guest instructor and takeaway prints. Paper in this workshop is from French Paper Company, a small Michigan Paper Mill around for more than 140 years.
